Steve Leonard is President, EMC Asia Pacific/Japan (APJ). With revenues of $20 billion in 2011 and more than 53,000 people worldwide, EMC is a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service. Fundamental to this transformation is cloud computing. Through innovative products and services, EMC accelerates the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments to store, manage, protect and analyze their most valuable asset – information – in a more agile, trusted, and cost-efficient way.
Leonard is responsible for driving EMC's growth and market share leadership in APJ, enhancing partner and channel relationships and furthering product development throughout the region. EMC, with the help of its partners, generated more than $2.6 billion in revenue from Asia Pacific and Japan operations in 2011, achieving 34 percent growth in revenues over 2010. Under Leonard's leadership, EMC APJ now employs more than 7,000 information management and storage professionals in the region to help customers accelerate their journey to cloud computing. Leonard reports to EMC Vice Chairman Bill Teuber.
Leonard has more than 28 years of industry and international experience in information management software and global sales and service, and for 23 of those years he has been based in Asia or Europe. Before joining EMC in April 2006, he managed the Asia Pacific Japan operations for Symantec and Veritas. Prior to that executive management position, Leonard spent 18 years with EDS, where he focused on European and Asian operations for 12 years, ultimately rising to the position of President of Solutions Consulting for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Leonard holds a business degree from Southern Methodist University.
