Rocket System Backup and Recovery (RBR) for DB2 on z/OS allows you to back up, restore, and recover entire DB2 subsystems on EMC Symmetrix. RBR uses TimeFinder business continuance volume (BCV) device technology or full volume Snap to provide a backup of DB2 data and logs.

RBR uses EMC’s Enginuity Consistency Assist (ECA) to produce a consistent backup of DB2 without taking it offline. RBR provides one product that seamlessly integrates backup, restore, and recovery of DB2 systems and objects with the EMC Symmetrix family of networked storage system and software for a single, complete backup solution.
